Two of our interns have put work into finding information on oysters in Colonial Boston.Shira Bleicher and Laura Olivier have visited archives and libraries seeking information that is not available at first blush. History of Oysters in Boston Harbor
In summary, the lower Charles had oysters on both the Cambridge and Back Bay sides. They extended at least to the Mass Ave bridge and may have been found all the way to the Harvard Bridge. Here is a link to the presentation Historical Record of Oysters in Boston
